Region-Locked Draft

SAM Draft — Brazil & South America

Region-Locked Draft narrows the pool to one scene's full depth. South America (SAM) is live now — a hand-researched gauntlet of Brazilian and South American RLCS history, free in your browser.

What the SAM region-locked draft is

SAM is a Region-Locked Draft: instead of pulling from the global pool, every round deals from South America's full depth. You still draft the same way — take one card per lineup until you have 3 players, 1 coach, 1 sub and 1 org — but every card comes from the SAM scene. South America is the first region live, hand-researched from Liquipedia, covering Brazilian and South American teams from RLCS history.

What's in the SAM pool

The pool combines two layers of the region: its World Championship teams, and the regional Top 8 that never reached Worlds. That second layer is the difference — deeper benches, local heroes and cult underdogs you won't see in the worldwide draft. Confirmed Brazilian names like yanxnz live in here. It's the region's real depth, not just its Worlds highlight reel.

Why it's a differentiator

Most RLCS draft games stop at the World Championship lineups. SAM goes deeper, surfacing the regional Top 8 that never made it to a Worlds stage — the qualifier teams, the near-misses, the scene's full bench. For Brazilian and South American fans that means drafting the players you actually watched, not only the handful who reached the global stage. That regional depth is what sets Rocket Draft apart.

How region-lock changes a run

Region-lock changes only the pool — nothing else. Your difficulty, chemistry rules and the full RLCS-style tournament all play exactly as normal: 16 teams, a Swiss stage into double-elimination playoffs. Same-country chemistry naturally lands more often inside one scene, so a coherent SAM roster can punch above a scattered all-star mix. The draft luck stays random; only the names on the cards are SAM.

More regions coming

South America is live first because it's hand-researched and ready. More regions are on the way, each built the same way — a scene's Worlds teams plus the regional Top 8 that never reached a World Championship. The goal is to let every fan lock the draft to the scene they grew up watching. SAM is the proof of concept; the rest of the map follows.
